About Bimbimbie Learning Studio
Discover the heart of Bimbimbie Learning Studio, nestled on a peaceful 10-acre hobby farm in Nalinga, Victoria. We offer a nurturing early childhood environment where children under five can grow, explore, and thrive. Just a short commute from Benalla and Shepparton, our studio provides a unique, nature-based learning experience.

Our philosophy
At Bimbimbie Learning Studio, we believe childhood should feel like childhood – unhurried, joyful, and deeply connected to the world around us. Surrounded by native birds, bushland, and open space, our small-group setting provides the ideal foundation for children to learn through meaningful nature-based play. Our approach blends nature-based, screen-free learning with insights from neuroscience and gentle guidance from Steiner practices. Each day invites children to engage with the rhythms of the river, the creatures of the farm, and the wonder of our natural surroundings. Through hands-on experiences, rich sensory play, creativity, and outdoor discovery, children build confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.

Why steiner?
The Steiner (Waldorf) approach in early childhood education focuses on nurturing the "head, heart, and hands" through holistic, play-based learning. We emphasise imagination, imitation, rhythm, and natural materials to build strong physical, social, and emotional foundations before formal academics. Our aim is to develop creative, well-rounded individuals. We prioritise the crucial first seven years for healthy development, fostering creativity through simple toys and artistic activities, learning through meaningful imitation (cooking, gardening), and creating secure, predictable environments with no screens to support a child's natural growth.

A place to belong
At Bimbimbie Learning Studio, every child is welcomed with warmth, respect, and a sense of belonging. We are grateful to offer a place where childhood can unfold gently and authentically—rooted in nature, community, and joy. Grounded in Steiner-inspired values, we believe in creating a calm, nurturing environment where children can explore at their own pace, follow their curiosity, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Daily interactions with our natural surroundings—along with our River Kindy program— will allow children to experience the wonder of the outdoors in meaningful, hands-on ways.

What makes FDC different
Family Day Care is unique for its intimate, home-based environment, small group sizes, and flexible hours, offering personalised attention and tailored learning in a nurturing setting that fosters strong educator-child bonds, often allowing siblings to stay together across different age groups.
This contrasts with larger centres, providing a more natural, consistent, and flexible childcare option that adapts to family lifestyles.
“Anything you can teach in an indoor classroom can be taught outdoors, often in ways that are more enjoyable for children."
